Wood fence construction begins with setting sturdy wooden posts into the ground, set in concrete, to create a strong foundation. Pre-assembled panels are then mounted to the posts via wood screws. The posts are usually pressure treated, but can be cedar. Panels are either pressure-treated pine, western red cedar, or eastern white cedar. Depending on the design, the boards can be placed close together for privacy or spaced for a more open look.
